'The Republic of Librestan' is a micronation founded by Arvind Pillai in early 2007. The country comprises of the homes/bedrooms of all registered Librestani citizens. It is currently in its nascent stages and is in need of members. Online passports will be issued to all those desiring to join our online community.

How do I join?

Make a comment under the latest post in the Official Blog stating your full name, E-mail address and location (City and Country). An online passport will be sent to your E-mail and your name will be included on the 'Citizen's' list. Please be patient, this may take upto three days.

If you are not familiar with using blogs, you could also sign up by sending an E-mail to librestan@yahoo.co.in with your name and location.

Remember, the passport/citizenship that you will be granted has absolutely no value in the real world. This is a mere hobby.

FACTS:

- Librestan is a Micronation
- The word 'Librestan' was formed by amalgamating 'liberty' with the Hindi word 'Stan' (meaning 'place'). Librestan literally means 'Place of Liberty'.
- Current Area: Extermely minute.
- As of now, Mr. Pillai is the sole ruler of Librestan, but new leaders will be added to the Government on the basis of Merit.  
- Librestan will help all it's citizens in their online activities. Eg: We will popularize your blog, provided that you advertise for us.
- Librestan was actually developed from an idea thought up by two tenth grade students (I have not received permission to disclose their names).   
- Librestan is a member of the Leage of Micronations.
- The 10 black stars on the flag represent the soon-to-be Ministers of Librestan.
- All citizens have to right to (1) request assistance in any difficulties you may face online, (2) speak freely on our forums, (3) suggest changes and actions and contribute to the site, (4) be protected from racism, flaming and exploitation anywhere on the internet.
The second right does not mean that we will show leniency towards trolls, flamers or spammers. No adult material will be tolerated on our boards.

CURRENT AIMS:

- Establishing an online population of over 100 Librestanis
- Getting Librestan included on Wikipedia's Official List of Micronations 
- Creating an Online Forum, where citizens can voice their concerns, or just talk.
- Introducing the principle of election. Possibly our hardest task.
